Oulder Hill Community School created a legacy project inspired by their centenary visit which sits in the pupil entrance at school.
It is a 6 metre x 3 metre map of Rochdale from 1918 with an individual poppy placed on the address of each Rochdale soldier who fought in the First World War.
There are 1,486 poppies in total.
This project was created by two Year 10 (9th Grade) students who participated in the battlefields visit, along with a History teacher and a design technician.
This project has won a national award for remembrance and our students collected their award and gave a presentation at the ceremony at the tower of London.

In this interactive version all poppies can be tapped on to display the name of the soldier and other relevant information

NB. Some soldiers addresses are recorded just as "Rochdale". Their poppies are place above the map until their address can be discovered.

The Online Version was made by a School Governor (Paul Branton) and the Reprographics Designer (Jessica Clarke)
